NP A Site Where Writers Can Share Their Pain

Not necessarily NP, Doug. Can anybody tell me where it was that I read an
article (in the last year or two) that examined TRP, Sr.'s "hobbiest" work
as a short story writer? Apparently he submitted many stories to the _New
Yorker_ in the late 1940's, never had one published. I may have read the
article on this list, even, the memory gets foggy. I'll give the _New
Yorker_ the benefit of the doubt and assume they wouldn't write an article
about the career (or lack thereof) of a man they never published, but I
wouldn't entirely put it past them.

Here are two great inspirations for creative writing students everywhere:
the intro to _Slow Learner_, and the theoretical stack of TRP, Jr.'s
rejection slips.
