V.V.(8) Intro

Welcome to V.V.(8)!  What will follow by way of introduction to our
discussion of Chapter Six, "In which Profane returns to street level,"
will be three fairly long messages.

The first will be a rather subjective summary of the chapter.  There
are certain things about the chapter that I thought were important to a
possible understanding of Benny Profane and of the book in general.

The second consists of several notes for some words and references.  I
have received a copy of the _Companion_, but I have tried not to
duplicate Grant's efforts.  I preferred to just include notes for
things that I thought were missing in the book or where I thought there
was better or different information.

The third message will be a commentary on some of the events in the
chapter.  Hopefully, this will spur some discussion on some of the
motifs in the book that are represented in this chapter.
