Another observation on the whole sick crew I've been forgetting to express
is that literally and prosaically the sick crew idea  seems to apply better
to the Norfolk bunch than to the intellectual types of the lower west side.
One more Pynchon surprise and confusion. In the end  Mark may be largely
correct--the whole sick crew can't really be demonstrated by clear level
headed reasoning to  stand for much very specific. It's Pynchon after all .
