Eminem v. Pynchon

Being banned from MTV today means the same as being not played on the radio
in the seventies (like Zappa and many more others), agreed?

So I think it really says something about Eminem's importance, but not
necessarily about his artistic quality.

I'm very much interested in the meaning of that last sentence about General
Motors.
