If some European electorates are voting Fascist parties into power, that
would seem to strengthen the notion that Fascism is alive and well, wouldn't
it? The same point can be made, of course, about certain U.S. political
leaders who are influenced by or indebted to parties with neo-Nazi
tendencies -- if the voters keep electing them, that would seem to speak to
the appeal of the Fascist message. Alive and well, if not healthy and sane.

No, I don't agree that "democracy is all about" putting Fascists into power.
Democracy fights against fascists, no matter how they arrive in power.
