Pynchon & religion

"jbor" doesn't like Terrance's personae. Funny that "jbor" would seek to
stifle a fellow P-lister, given the way you've whined about freedom of
speech and the virtues of Internet anonymity since your earliest posts to
Pynchon-L. What a hypocrite "jbor" has been and remains.

Re textual support for the notion of Pynchon as a religious writer (I ignore
your distorted revision of what I've previously posted), start on the final
page of GR and work either backwords (through that novel -- Calvinism;
creation spirituality; the pseudo-religion of Nazism and the occult revival
-- and continuing on through his earlier work, revisiting perhaps some of
the many examples of religious subjects in V. that have been discussed here
over the past few weeks and months) or forwards, on to Vineland (Gnosticism)
and M&D (Resurrection, bodily or otherwise; Deism; New Age spirituality).
Read one of the small library of books and articles that have been written
about the religious content of Pynchon's work -- Terrance is very good about
quoting from one then another.

Or, more likely, "jbor" will continue to throw in red herrings and ad
hominem slurs that stop or sidetrack the discussion,

"jbor"
"As I said at the outset: I'm more than happy never to engage with you
again."

Then don't.
