By all means use the term but also be aware that you are appropriating it
somewhat ambiguously. The disagreement you and Eric are having is about your
respective *interpretations* of the past (i.e. what you refer to as
"history") rather than over the particular past event/s (which you also seem
to be referring to as "history").
