I've been assured that this is, indeed, historically
accurate ...

And I'm guessing from "Special TV Offers" airing here,
and, esp. as V.-era Bourbon Street Sho-Bar attarction
and, shortly therafter (19580, Louisiana Governor
(Gouveurneur?) Earl Long consort Blaze Starr came up
in re: "the floor in Baltimore," that thsi is true as
well ...

But do let us know, David.  Was supposed to go to New
orleans for mardi gras this year, but events,
economics intervened.  The friend I was to visit
warns, however, that all is not quite as photogenic as
in those late-night video ads ...
