Hollander doesn't mention the Modigliani neck, but he told
us to look it up in Britannica and that's very good advice.
In any event, see Those Pynchon Notes 26-27 where Hollander
identifies some of P's most important techniques. He notes
that Cleanthes was the student of Zeno. Zeno is very
important to GR. In any event, just thinking of Kute

Of always thought that P owed a debt to Upton Sinclair. Oil,
