this is, all in all, of course correct. nevertheless, we should tell the
non-european p-listers also that countries like greece, spain, portugal or
italy are, like germany, part of the european union. today this means that
people from those countries can, like you and me, choose in which of the
eu-countries they want to live. the legal status of, say, italians in germany
does not really differ from the one germans in italy dispose of.
yet you are absolutely right about people of turkish origin, the largest group
of migrants living in germany today. shame on our red/green government!
on the situation of the turkish community in dtschlnd see especially the
semi-fictional writings of feridun zaimoglu, the fellow who put my childhood
city kiel on the map of german literature.
