I rode a tank, held a general's rank, when the blitzkrieg raged

Jesus is universally admired by Christians yet they re-enact and share
in his death at every mass. Similarly, Frankenstein's monster sticks it
to his creator, which the populace wants, but then must be exiled. And
King Kong sticks it to his exploiters, but then must die. A book shows a
possible world, but then must be closed. As the expression of the
repressed id, the Badass is both cheered and feared, adored and hated.
His chaos is welcomed for a while as a welcome break from routine, but
then his end is equally welcomed.
