Thank goodness someone else has spoken directly.
Whether P is advocating monism and materialism or dualism and religious
faith is not obvious from my reading of his works. That he appreciates
religious feeling as a vital part of human existence is obvious.
Terance, I went to a Catholic junior school, I attended Baptist,
Methodist and Non denom churches when necessary (to get in the youth
clubs), I drew up horoscopes (liked the sums!) and was part of a group of
rural cultural guerillas ;-) ideologically dominated by post hippie druid
types before i became politically alert and active. Were I a writer of
ordinary fiction I would most certainly use my knowledge in those areas to
create (hopefully) resonant metaphors for human relations, emotions and
art. It would not mean that my fiction was
>focused on religion
I'm with Richard on this one, but feel drowned in your excesses rather than
severely irritated. Less can be more!
