Sounds like Reverend Cherrycoke.

If Napoleon really has said this he was a wiser man than I had assumed,
despite of his other (major) errors.

Bringing Nap. and V.I. into context one is to say that *going to Russia* can
mean two very different things historically . . .

On the other thing: no doubt about that, even if it's only speculation.
