SV: Nietszche quote...

"The admirers of forms, with their standard of beauty and sublimity, will,
to be sure, have good reason to mock at first, when esteem for unpretentious
truths and the scientific spirit first comes to rule, but only because
either their eye has not yet been opened to the charm of the simplest form,
or because men raised in that spirit have not yet been fully and inwardly
permeated by it, so that they continue thoughtlessly to imitate old
forms..."

Human, All Too Human.
Of First and Last Things. III.

I don't recollect having read the exact sentence before, but it reminded me
of this passage. Could be the result of some rephrasing.

Kind regards

Soren.

can anyone help me track down one of the great man's quotes, I think its
in Beyond Good and Evil but I can't seem to find it. It goes something
like - people say beauty is only skin deep, but how superficial their idea
of beauty is.

thanks,
Mark
