He crosses the uncrossable wall, waits at the interface,
infecting men with his Death, making their liberation a
banishment.

Well, dip shit is not entirely out to brunch on this one,
he does share his creator's view of the grim side of
American colonialism, but Blicero is the white albatross, the
soul feather remaining, America's promise. Blicero's
promise is the Kingdom of Death, AMerica is the promise
of life and liberty, too bad that pursuit of property
has placed Blicero in high places, making masters and slaves
of the spirit. But dipshits anti-americanism would
confuse a Nazi's ideology with the american dream because
he can't believe that Pynchon could in fact be an
AMerican author that doesn't hate his own Nation, but
cares about it very deeply and still, after the harshest
and most honest critique, dreams of America.
>Swing has Blicero's number. I don't believe Pynchon means for us to admire
>Blicero, if he did Blicero wouldn't be the pathetic and monstrous travesty
>he is in GR.
Admire Blicero? Yeah, P admires him because he's gay. What
a dip shit.
By the way Swing, I agree with you on the importance of
>religion and morality in P's writing, P would seem to be as obsessed with
>religion as he is with history and politics,
Well, I'll try reply to Otto, cause I like Otto, and I
don't think we are as far apart, Otto and Me, as it
may seem, but it will take a lot of work. I've said
almost all I have to say on GR and I will have more to
say about Paola and St. Paul later, but these essays on
M&D have my wheels turning to that book. I joined this list
to discuss it, only it, so far I've been through every
book but it with this group, so I hope we won't turn to
that silly short CL49. BTW, has anyone tied to listen to
M&D on tape?
but I don't agree with your
>politics and economics of globalization as expressed here.
Well that's good Doug, I'm not quite sure I agree with
them either.
