It was in Doug's post this morning. In case you missed it, here it is
again--
http://www.alternet.org/story.html?StoryID=11855
It's a fine article. I suggest you give it a read. Try Noam Chomsky too.
He's all over

>>>dear barbara100: dang. thus, by responding on the list, you prove my point.
i didn't realize doug was the font of veracity. perhaps, you should visit
some sites which debunk or question internet myths. the internet is the
perfect medium in which to spread disinformation. if i only believe 20% of
what i read in the 'ny times' or 'the nation', i certainly don't believe
more than 5% of what i read on the internet. i read the article (see
above). noam chomsky. puh-lease. that dood has as much currency as somali
shillings (the power of colonialism!). have you been following the
chomsky/hitchens debates (see 'the nation')? you can ask doug. chomsky is
a a fair comic, but has no moral or ethical core which i can discern in his
being. i rate him at about chico marx' level of comic relief.

you can refer to me by name, barb. i am a 'newbie' no longer, as it refers
to a state of experience on a list and, therefore, your usage is incorrect.
this will be my last post to the list on this issue (pls refer to my
previous post) as i joined for the purpose of increasing my knowledge base
of pynchon, not this week's current events from 'the weekly reader'. thank
you. love/olio/xxx ps. by most fair, and reliable sources (the u.n., other
humanitarian agencies, ngo's), u.s. aid in 'food dollars' in 2000 to
afghanistan was 72 million dollars, far outstripping their muslim brothers
(there are no muslim sisters) in total, who provided a mere 5.5 million, in
toto, to their buds, the taliban.
