It's our world, Pynchon is just one of us, living on it. You keep
talking as if Pynchon has written 1984 and now that it is 1984 Pynchon
should be hailed not the next Orwell, but a Nostradamus/St. John the
Divine. It doesn't help your argument to do this, imho.

The government and the popular news and press admit that they are
engaged in a propaganda battle. But the alternative news is also engaged
in a propaganda battle. While they point out that the government and the
press are engaged in a dangerous propaganda campaign, they can't help
but spin everything in the opposite direction. It really has become a
matter of who can scream fire and rape louder and reach the largest
audience. Well, thank goodness there are only a handful of us silly
cyberspace souls here on the Pynchon list. Geeez, can you imagine of
someone thought there were millions of us here and that they could
actually changed our opinions by sending us articles and essays and
alternative news. We'd be flooded with the stuff.

State or radical yellow fog in our eyes
makes the public
unhealthy
unwealthy
and unwise.
