members of the group!

Barbara, if you really got trouble with some posts, simply delete them - the
head-crash deleted 9000 p-list-mails on my hard disc -- I did survive and
I'm not accusing Big One/Slothrop666 of having destroyed it because I had
added his e-mail address to my list of unwanted addresses.

I think Robert has a simple question Doug had refused to answer up to now --
he had it answered to me offlist some time ago & we all know Doug's answer
now and personally I'm not convinced that he is "Big One" or
"Slothrop666" -- with all his open attacks and accusations against "Jbor &
The Dogpack" of being attacked and accused by the same personnell I've never
been able to discover a strategy behind it that would require an anonymous
poster to be used for accusing others of posting anonymous posts.

All this crime of anonymity. Have you read Nathan's wonderful post? I took
the time to re-read some Carlton Fist:
"Does anyone on this list have a job? Where does everyone get the time to
contribute? No wonder America's in a recession right now; a significant
portion of its intelligentsia is spending its time arguing with Doug
Millison."

As far as I can see it's always been this way but it's best to me -- I've
learned a lot. Finally I belong to the "Dogpack", something I've always
wanted since the bigger boys wouldn't let me play soccer with them when I
was six. But this seems to be American Football.

Terrance is angry for being wrongly accused (by Doug) of having set up
anonymous e-mail accounts -- the truth is these were just identities (mostly
humorous-intelligent ones, mostly in some way relating to the topic of the
discussion) in his e-mail programme but the e-mail-address stayed the same,
like Nathan -- I would find out any Terrance-post under what disguise
whatever, and an open and clearly spoken "asshole" or "fuck off" or "Creep"
isn't something I would worry about too much.
I know about myself that I can be a pretty good arrogant asshole every once
in a while if someone gets me on the wrong foot.

Terrance and others are furthermore angry about the fact that Doug has been
abusing the list for a stream of Alter.Net messages, wasting my discspace
too because I have subscribed to it myself. Who could, would & should
possibly discuss all these messages which are generally saying that this war
on terror is a fraud?

I don't know how I would react if someone was constantly & over years
accusing me of having anti-Semitism "right-winged-streaks" - on a public
e-mail list and then denying that he has accused me at all, then wondering
about my complaints and the next day accusing me again.

I'm sorry that Olio has left again so quick, he seems to have the right kind
of humour (like Paul & David) we need so desperately on this list which is,
on the whole, absolutely ok and the most living e-mail group I've ever heard
of. But you must have the nerve. Another Carlton Fist:
"Do you like William Gaddis? The gaddis list is a sea of calm right now. The
most contentious issue since 9/11 has been in deciding whether Jonathan
Franzen sucks or not."

Or the Musil list or the alternative P-list at yahoo . . .
