Gary, lots of progressives would disagree with you, I'm sure.  Liberal
Democrats haven't gotten over the fact that they couldn't muster enough
votes for Gore, or that they got beat in the courts by the Republicans, or
that Republicans were more clever than Democrats in shuffling Florida
ballots  -- blaming progressives for that may make them feel better.  Given
the history of foreign policy under Clinton-Gore, I find it difficult to
believe we'd have anything very different now with a Gore Administration,
and close attention to what Clinton-Gore actually did domestically doesn't
exactly support the stark differences that some Democrats like to claim
exist. Look at the way the Democrats are falling all over themselves to
support Bush.  I recommend watching what Democrats do in Congress over the
next few weeks, with regard to support for Bush legislation, before you
continue tarring progressives with this broad brush.
