jbor's zipper

I've been on this list forever, but you'd havetahave serious emotional
problems (not that I don't) to keep track of the P-List flames. I don't even
remember some of the ones that I was involved with.

There useta be woman who'd close her P-List message with something like
"Putting on my flameproof nightie" if she'd posted something that might
evoke a tongue of fire. I always thought that it was sorta cute and it went
a long way to keeping the flame-wars in perspective. She was off-list for a
while, was back on recently, and now she's off again. I don't know, but I
imagine that she may have been driven off by some of the bellicose,
repetitious, knee-jerk, ill-considered rants that have taken the place of
intelligent discourse on this list since... Well, in particular, since
11-Sep. I understand that everyone is irritable, but "Why can't we all just
get along."
