I give what I get, albeit sometimes more
conciselessly, sometimes more elliptically, and
sometimes, as in this case, I give what others get as
well. But I've hardly made a career out of it here,
so ...
So chalk it up to a regrettable moment of frustration
on my part, the culmination of many regrettably
frustrating moments on the part of others here.
Again, all apologies where apologies necessary ...

I've no end of friends, acquaintances and/or people
simply overheard in public with colorful ways of
saying things, and one of these days I'm going to
start writing it all down in screenplay form and set
off for Hollywood to make my fortune ...
But while I'm here ...

As opposed to, what, either the red-faced bluster or
the disdainful sneer I (and others) usually encounter
here? Again, Hollywood. I proudly claim the mantle
of the American Wiseass Antihero, in the face of
his/her traditional rogues' gallery ...

As opposed to ...? Well, there ARE discernable
patterns here, though some have hovered around the
margins, hidden in the shadows, myself (but hardly
only myself, speaking of significant absences ...)
included in the recent round of post-September 11th
online hostilities ...
Do note, I'm not necessarily taking up anyone's
arguments here. Rather, I'm protesting their abuse at
the hands of others, esp. when such treatment is
blatantly hypocritical. I claim no special privilege,
except perhaps a willingness to recognize my own
imperfections in that regard ...
