all this complaining about consumer culture seems
kinda dumb to me -- it's basic economics, for better
or worse, that the flow of money is what keeps the
country afloat. i would be willing to bet that
post-ers like monroe and others who are disgusted at
the crassness of our leaders suggesting we get on
planes, go out for dinner, buy action figures,
whatever, don't work for airlines, own or work at a
restaurant, have a job at the mall, etc.

Okay, before I set in on M&D, or before I get set off
by something else here, a little something from G.W.
Bush's Thursday night press conference.  Now, I'm all
for getting on with the National Life here, but what's
interesting here are "our" priorities ...

"We cannot let the terrorists acheive the objective of
frightening our nation to the point where we don't
conduct business or people don't shop."
