Pynchon's Mothers & Roger's Mother

Roger's mother is the war.
What does this mean?
That he was born of war not woman?
Is it that war has natrured him and given him language?
He also call his sexual rival (Jessica's man) the war.
He also calls Jessica's man Beaver.
Beaver is a slang term for vagina. It's an insult for sure.
But it's also indicative of Roger's cheap nihilism (in the religious
sense).
Roger's rants about war and markets are undermined by his nihilism.

So attributing these rants to Pynchon is a mistake in my opinion.
