How could anyone, for G_D's sake, take anything Pynchon says in his novels,
or even his blurbs, literally? You'd have to be either a genius or a
prophet to claim to have the TRUE DOPE on Pynchon (representing here
"truth"). ACTUALLY, if you claimed so, it would be your own proof against
yourself (like the drowning of a witch). Literalism and Fundamentalism are
nearly the same beast: they nueter the imagination and prop up
authoritarianism. The author is not G_D! You do not know
what/why/whom/where/when/ G_D is, "And you never will!"
