Two points:
Opinions (mine, and generally) about the legitimacy and necessity of the
international military response after the attacks of 11/9 have not changed.
If anything, unchallenged as this response has been by a plausible
alternative or alternatives, and in light of the *reputable* information
which is at hand, these opinions have been confirmed and strengthened. What
is being discussed is the quickest and least harmful way of achieving the
desired result, which at this point is the defeat of the Taliban forces, the
installation of a replacement government in Afghanistan, and the
repatriation of the Afghani refugees.
Propaganda, attempts to vilify, and cheap hysterics are actually doing more
harm than good to the "pacifist" cause, or whatever cause it is that you
purport to advocate. Engagement in a civil dialogue, and practical
alternatives, would be welcome.
