Although I object to many of Doug's postings as much as some of you do I am
willing to say that I believe him here. I usually don't care who is posting
what under which name, but in this case, given the fact that Doug has been
opposing "anonymity" quite viciously for as long as I have been around, I'd
have a serious problem with him if that accusation was true.
Also, Doug, relatedly: As far as David, Rob and Terrance etc. are concerned, I
find your own accusations quite ridiculous, even if I try to look at
"anonymity" from your POV: Did David give you any reason to think his name was
not David Morris? Rob is one Robert Jackson from Australia who has changed his
e-mail accounts while posting to this list and you know it. Don't tell me you
don't. MalignD is obviously a pseudonym but he/she has always posted under that
name, which is basically as far as you can go as far as internet identities are
concerned. And if I remember correctly, once somebody posted something under
MalignD's nom-de-plum which he/she objected to immediately. Terrance has been
posting under a lot of different names that have been instantly recognizable as
artificial from the outset. The second posting under the pseudonym usually made
clear that this was Terrance. Which is to say that he never pretended to be
somebody else (which would, again, IMHO not necessarily have been a crime). He
did use his various "names" to look at things from different POVs or to cover
specific topics which I actually think is a quite charming idea. He did never
use these "names" to give the impression that there were more people on the
list supporting his own monolithic POV (IMHO Terrance has not got a monolithic
POV and his postings have always been too soulful to allow for that kind of
cool and calculated cunning). Which is, of course, what you are being accused
of. Again, I sincerely hope the accusation is false (which, I believe, would
not be James Kyllo's fault).
