Where did you read or hear about this? 

Do you think this information is sufficient evidence to bluntly assert
that Pynchon is personally paranoid and do you have additional evidence?
There are countless possible explanations for Pynchon's request, if in
fact he made it. Right? Also, I fail to see the connection you made
between his being an author on the Left and his being personally
paranoid.
