seems to me, Doug that bin laden is far from such "good" bad-asses as 
depicted by Pynchon in the _SJ_ intro.  besides being a religious fanatic, a 
racist, political opportunist, he also exhibits the classic meglo-mania like 
Hitler, willing to bring down a whole culture for whatever half-baked 
reason, including himself. what past sins is he fighting for?  from the 
crusades.  the man and his movement is pathetic.

can't see how anyone would support the man
