Quail's defense of rj/rjackson/jbor/?'s anti-Semitic slurs on the P-list

Quail,

Now why would you want to support rj/rjackson/jbor/?'s lies regarding the
anti-Semitic taunts flung at Derek? Derek was very clear in his charge that
he considered what rj/rjackson/jbor/? and kai were saying was in fact
anti-Semitic, and instead they kept it up and never did apologize. It was
disgraceful behavior, and you do yourself no favor by trying to cover it
up, too.

As I said, it's possible that Derek misunderstood -- although the way the
conversation played out it seemed clear that rj/rjackson/jbor/? knew what
he was doing -- but after knowing that Derek was taking the comments as
anti-Semitic, don't you think Quail that rj/rjackson/jbor/? and kai should
have stopped? Or do you think that it's OK to hurl anti-Semitic slurs in
this forum?

I'm not lying in this instance, I can demonstrate it with posts from the
archives.

First of all, asshole, my name is Derek, not "maus" (which is, as you no
doubt know, not only my last name but an insulting hurled toward Jews in
Germany, you little sweetie you...). If you wish to hide your little-frog
self behind your bigpond.com alias, that's fine with me, but I have a
name and I'd appreciate it if you use it when you refer to me.

As to my *only* real purpose, why don't you refer to yesterday around 3
p.m. in the archives and note my response to Rich Romeo's request for
information on Melville biographies and decide for yourself which one of
us is a hypocrite.

Or better yet, how about this brief sampling:

http://www.waste.org/mail/?list=pynchon-l&month=0008&msg=312&sort=author

Or, hey, just for historical perspective, how about some from a little
further back:

http://www.waste.org/mail/?list=pynchon-l&month=9906&msg=202&sort=author

http://www.waste.org/mail/?list=pynchon-l&month=9711&msg=178&sort=author

I'm sure you'll find some occasional instances or sarcasm and failed
attempts at humor, but I dare say I've been on this list for about two
years longer than you and I don't think I've had anyone except you make
this sort of idiotic insinuation before. I certainly can't say the same
for you. You (and that dear boy Jules and a couple of other come-and-go
flame-baiters) are, frankly, the only one I've ever traded personal
insults with and I'm not particularly proud of it.

So, in closing, bite me with all your onanistic vigor, jackson.

Derek "the Yid with an Id" Maus

Quail, this is a case where your knee-jerk reaction against me is making
you look as if you side with some pretty creepy P-list behavior by
rj/rjackson/jbor/?. Is that really where you want to be in this
discussion, Quail? On the side of a person who has already hounded at least
two respected Pynchon scholars out of the Pynchon-L discussion? An
anti-Semite, based on his/her behavior with Derek? I suggest you give this
some thought. As "Morris" says, birds of a feather...

When you've realized your mistake, I'm expecting that you wll apologize
for calling me a liar.
