I began it and didn't finish it, the only one of his books about which I can 
say that (for what it's worth) and I've read all the others.

I was unengaged by the characters and the situation (much to my surprise, I 
might add).  I wouldn't not recommend it, however, since it's a pretty 
personal response (it didn't stink) and because I didn't finish it.  It's 
happened before that I've picked up a book a second time and read it with 
pleasure, the problem clearly having been with me and not the book.
