For your information this country is not (and does not proclaim itself)
Christian. Moreover, different states in the the country have different
laws regarding capital punishment. The formula "eye for an eye" is OT,
hence Judaic, and though it is not actually practiced in Israel, it
remains, interestingly enough, in strict force in fundamentalist Islamic
societies (Those societies, by the way, have an extremenly high regard
for the idea of vengeance. They will hardly be shocked, or morally
outraged, by US retaliation.) If you're going to deliver moral lectures
to this group, at least get your facts and references straight.
