HTML format

It's hard to read pynchon-l sometimes.  People on the list are given to
strange rhetorical devices, not to mention sometimes unconventional
orthography, and of course there's lots of flames and tangentially related
posts.

To make it easier for others to sort through this, do me a favor:  check
to make sure you are sending plaintext, not HTML, messages to the list.
In Outlook Express, that's Edit -> Preferences -> Message Composition, but
it will vary from one mail program to another.
