MDMD US AAA NJ/PA Map Cover Picture

I got me a AAA map of New Jersey/Pennsylvania to help
track the boys and the line, and lo and behold on the cover
is a photograph of a rather nice statue of one of our heroes
using that theodolite-precursor thing. Anyone know where
this statue is and which of our boyos it be?
