Good question, but it's not me who has made that comment, but: "a writer for
The New Yorker" quoted by Thomas Doherty, associate professor of film
studies at Brandeis University. This is the url originally posted by Doug
Millison.

So you have to ask Tom Doherty or our own Doug, but if you ask for my
*personal* opinion it goes for both: the nazi-whore Riefenstahl (my opinion)
& the political terrorist Kissinger (the standard set up by Mr. Bush after
the last 9/11).
Kissinger, Secretary of State of the United States from 1973 to 1977:

As far as I remember this period includes the overthrow of the
democratically elected government of Chile and the murder of Salvator
Allende on September 11, 1973 by the CIA-puppet Pinochet. Others had their
September 11 too.
Which is part of the story that makes me always feel uneasy if
US-politicians want to get rid of someone . . . (Arafat, Saddam Hussein) in
the name of freedom & democracy. For Chile it had meant decades of fascism.

PS My non-official information about Chile back in those days came from one
of my best friends, the painter Dirk H. (now living in Northern Spain
because he cannot bear living in Germany, I may not give out his name), had
been living and working as a teacher in Chile between 1968 and 1973. I meet
him as a teacher, but we became friends very soon according to our love for,
well, tulips from Amsterdam.
