Gee Wiz, I thought we were all kinda standing around lookin down at our
black boots, wing tips, nikes, sandals, wiggling toes, sort of pushing
the dirt around..."How bout them Yankees... "yeah, the DH versus the
pynchkidder..." ....looking for that proverbial carpet sweeping under
and onto the next chapter (one of the most beautiful chapters in the
book too!) and the next book, story, essay, blurb, "interview", and
well, um, up you ride on that dead horse flogging (Pynchon's italics)
and whipping (pynchon's italics) up a defense for your poor, abused,
victim of this dirty cyber-city and the looking glass,
Humpty-Doug-Dumpty under our feet in pieces again.

Even a hero gets a bullet in the chest
Once upon a time, in the West....
