I agree, Morris is unlikely to accept the invitation,
but it's appropriate all the same. Morris lifts a
quote from Moorcock out of context, edits it, then
pretends to be offended. Dave's suggestion is a good
one, if in fact Morris has something to say about what
Moorcock has written -- if not address Moorcock
directly, at least address the substance of what
Moorcock has written and which was introduced into
this discussion.
Given the obscene snail trail he's smeared across this
forum, the idea that Morris could be offended by
something here is perhaps the funniest thing I've read
on Pynchon-L all year.
At the end of 2002, I'd say thanks are due Dave Monroe
for the work he's done to enrich the discussion here,
by digging up and pointing us to a wealth of
interesting online resources. I'e discovered many
books and articles that I've enjoyed reading as a
result of his work. I don't know anybody who does more
to keep the discussion moving along, with more tact.
