No, I'm just as cranky as anyone else here, and then
some. Though I do have a doctor's excuse ...

... but I'd also thank Doug along these lines, along
with many, many others here, both on and offlist. I
follow up on as much as I possibly can. And, as I
don't recall much of anyone else here joining me on
this on the dozen/three occasions I've mentioned this,
despite any differences et soforthiam betwixt us, I'd
esp. like to thank Robert for an heroic effort in
keeping the M&D reading afloat for, what, a year and
some significant chnage? I wish I'd've had the time,
stamina, tenacity, versatility and, above all, will to
do so myself. Fortunately, I didn't need to.
Whatever else the rest of you got out of MDDM, I
acquired both a newfound respect for a novel I'd
devoured once as quickly as possible without taking
the time to relish it, not to mention some use value
out of a whole lotta material that I'd been accruing
without realizing just what had given me the idea to
buy sight unseen, say, a book on magnetism in
eighteenth-century literature. And I learned a whole
lotta other stuff along the way. So thanks for 2002,
and a felicitous Ought-Three to y'all. Okay, now back
to being an asshole myself ...
