You'd have to agree that without interviews or speaking engagements or any 
other publicity,when new work is issued, Pynchon, more than most, controls 
the whens and wheres and whats when he wants to get up and say something 
publicly. He's not reacting, but being more proactive in his public voice, 
if that makes any sense.
