For someone who prides himself as a wordmeister of the English language
using IRREGARDLESS is a big NO . . .NO. . . . And coming from you very
revealing.
Pynchon would never approved unless he used it in a nonstandard manner,
specifically for character rendering.
And REGARDLESS what dictionary you consult and come back quoting, it is
simply improper use of American and British English.
Irregardless is a word that some ill informed souls mistakenly believe to be
correct usage in formal style.
It is the yoking of irrespective and regardless and for the logical
absurdity of combining the negative ir- prefix and -less suffix in a single
term.
it has been considered a blunder for decades and will probably continue to
be so.
