better version of Playboy Japan interview with TRP

Again, this is denial taken to ridiculous extremes
here.  My question is, just what's provoking it?  Just
what is being denied?  Why the anxiety over Pynchon
actually making a few comments to the press, whichever
press it may be, wherever it may be?  Must be
something he might actually have said.  What?  But I'd
imagine that, were these comments NOT actually
Pynchon's, or even were they not translated into
Japanses to his satisfaction, he'd have a little
something to say about that as well.  How long has
that particular issue been out now?  If WE know about
it, then, certainly ...

My OTHER question is, this anxiety somehow related to
that little tactic of seemingly coopting a thread,
making it one's "own," by insistentlay and incessantly
changing the subject heading?  Talk about yr
rhetorical violence ...
