Whatever, Doug. A lot of people can read Japanese. An English transcript or
tape of the interview must exist, or have existed, unless you are proposing
that Pynchon speaks Japanese. _Playboy_ magazines are published
internationally. I've seen no evidence whatsoever to confirm the
authenticity of the alleged interview.
