By the way, I do actually look things up here from
time to time ...

... and was surprised to see that David Mamet (= Dave
Monroe = Doug Millison = David Morris = Don Meredith,
Lipton Tea Lover = ...) actually did have a writing
credit on Wag the Dog (dir. Barry Levinson, 1997;
screenplay by Hilary Henkin and David Mamet; based on
the novel American Hero by Larry Beinhart), though I
suspect he was just called in to punch up the dialogue
(DM [!] having a particularly mean left hook in this
regard ...) and ended up in the credits as a "name."
Anyone know how to bust into the dialogue-punching
ring? I mean, I loves me my Quentin Tarantino, but
what he did on Crimson Tide (dir. Tony Scott, 1995 [QT
is uncredited]) was just plain wrong: The Spanish
Riding School is in neither Spain nor Portugal, but,
rather, Austria, and neither John Buscema nor Moebius
was the best Silver Surfer penciller--Jack "King"
Kirby, dammit, and Tarantino knows it (note the poster
in Tim Roth's room in Reservoir Dogs, an homage to the
Jim McBride Breathless remake [1985], of all things)...
