This reminds me of a memorable piece of graffiti I once saw. Someone had
scrawled a paraphrase of the old Hanns Johst line often attributed to
Hermann Goering, 'Whenever I hear the word culture I reach for my gun', to
which some wag had appended the response 'Microbiologists beware!'
