At first glance I believe 'human license' here means 'human will' which is
often seen by religious puritans as being at odds with God's law and
certainly God's Will. Here of course this kind of question invariably
leads, by individuals of certain affinities to elements divine, to the
battle between God's law often expressed by the manifestation of his Divine
Will ( also known as the Greater Will by all those self appointed souls who
claim they can divine this mystery ) versus Man's Free Will (Lesser Will)
and does it indeed exist and then of course this leads to the question(s) of
destiny and so on ad infinitum.
As a side-bar: I find the presence of Monica an insightful and intelligent
addition. She is refreshing in her whimsical observations ( I would suggest
to her reading, if she has not , 'The Romantic Agony' by Mario Praz - great
reference for further reading). And if anyone thought she might possibly be
Doug Millison has no appreciation of word selection as it makes for a
writing style and above all as a reflection of an individuals' mind and
being.
And if by the most remote chance she is Doug -- I simply suggest Doug give
up being Doug and everything associated with that entity and continue his
life as Signorina Belevan. I for one would say good riddance to all that
pseudo ipso facto left political noise via narrow and small minded knee jerk
journalistic insights presenting itself as the voice of caring and
universal consciousness.
Greetings to one and all
