I bring it to our attention here because it adds an insight that hasn't
been specifically voiced in this discussion thread, and to alert my P-list
friends to an article (and two recently-published books) that they may be
interested in. No more, no less. You may want to just think about it
before jumping to a conclusion about the work from which it is excerpted.

Go ahead and disagree with the author of the article (without having read
the entire article), and bash the writers of the books reviewed in this
article (without having read them), if that's what you want to do. It seems
to me that in the absence of reading the article, all you're doing now is
airing your preconceived notions, with the addition of ad hominem attacks
on people whose work you haven't read. As you wish, of course.
