Les scénaristes d'Hollywood ont de plus en plus recours à l'aide de
spécialistes de la CIA ou du Pentagone. Deux films, "Bad Company", de Joel
Schumacher, et "La Somme de toutes les peurs" (en salles le 24 juillet), de
Phil Alden Robinson, montrent à quel point cette collaboration contribue à
modifier - en bien - l'image des services secrets américains. Dans un
entretien au "Monde", Chase Brandon, l'agent du bureau des relations
publiques de la CIA chargé d'assurer la liaison entre son Agence et
Hollywood, explique comment il "aide les réalisateurs de télévision, de
cinéma et de documentaires qui veulent donner une image juste et impartiale
de la CIA". Les résultats du Box Office sont éloquents : depuis le 11
septembre, près d'un tiers des films arrivés en tête sont des films de
guerre.

sun peering up under Liberty's wispy gown, clutching, dumb, when the 88
