Christianity and Pynchon

I love this pair of quotes from the twins.  Is there any doubt that Pynchon 
loves these quick quips just as Franklin did with his "Poor Henry's 
Almanac?"  Platonic Discourse?  I think if Pynchon occupies the soul of his 
characters, he does it with feeling for Franklin.
