Yes, it's quite clear that Jere and Lady Lepton consummate their lust for
one another: why else his shit-eating grin at 427.11? (Let alone the actual
aural description of their amorous entanglement from 425.4 to 425.18!)

I must admit, though, that I didn't get Mason mishearing "flattering a
Griddle Cake" for "flatter'n a Griddle-Cake" at 426.22, as Voam helps him
ease the tub to the floor; or the Professor's well-tried Joak: "I can see
it'll take a lot to shock a crowd like this!" at 433.11.

And, like Andrew Dinn back in the previous group reading, I can't help
wondering which of the characters - if indeed any - is actually narrating
this episode. The summary of "Austra's" situation and lifestyle, and the
rhetorical question which follows on from this (427.29-32), are very
interesting in this regard.
