Oh yeah... one of my favorite chapters... read it again.. except, make sure you start on the last page of the preceding chapter...

Who knows if Godolphin was even there?  Who knows what Mondaugen really told Stencil?  The fun is in the way Stencil tells the story... I always thought that maybe Stencil added the parts about Godolphin... to make Vera = Victoria... who knows? 

I like the chapter... The title is confusing because it is called Mondaugen's Story - I think Mondaugen gave Stencil a much different version... 

 I think it the best of the Stencil impressions... though I like Florence also.  Got to like the Gaucho.

  did any one else read mondaugen's story and end up feeling lost. i did. what relevance does this have. i know he shows up later in GR. what's with Godolphin thinking he is his son? is that significant? Weissman? is this a precursor of GR? whose the cooz that keeps slinkning around....Vera? what the fuck!!!!
