So, the Bible advocates"ethical bio-technology", jbor is saying, using
Pynchon's citation of Apocrypha to lend authority to the notion? Thanks for
clearing *that* up; I'll add that to the long list of present ills that
Bible fans claim find support in ancient scripture.

Although in one sense I think you may be right, Otto -- "ethical
bio-technology" certainly appears to be a science-fictional concept,
promolgated by the Powers that Be in Their ongoing quest of Analysis and
Control.
